Types of Sprinkler Heads
When installing a sprinkler system, you have a choice between two types of sprinkler heads: rotors and sprays. Choosing between these two types of heads is dependent on what type of sprinkler system you want and which sprinkler head is most appropriate for your commercial or residential application.
Rotor Sprinkler Heads are ideal for large lawns, landscapes, and golf courses. Since these sprinkler heads distribute water over a larger area, they should be spread further apart with each head given at least a 15 foot radius.
Spray Sprinkler Heads are perfect for the residential lawn and garden! Most spray sprinkler heads are designed as pop-up heads that retract below the turf line when not in use. While spacing between each spray sprinkler head will vary based on your nozzle size, you should space spray sprinkler heads closer than 15 feet together.
